Anyone following this repository and looking to achieve something similar to this internal DNS forwarder can simply use the CoreDNS Azure plugin: https://coredns.io/plugins/azure/.

Here’s a simple Corefile example for forwarding the private DNS zone privatelink.blob.core.windows.net. This will work as long as your Kubernetes cluster network has access to the private DNS zone, either through direct access, private endpoints, or a VPN.

privatelink.blob.core.windows.net:1053 {  
    azure rg-private-dns-zones:privatelink.blob.core.windows.net {  
        tenant {$YOUR_TENANT}  
        client {$YOUR_CLIENT}  
        secret {$YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET}

        access private  
    }  
}
