I run Live Tennis API.
With
index=True, a row label such asa|bcreates an extra Markdown cell. Line breaks in labels or index names split the table across rows.Scalar row labels and index names now use the existing cell escaping rules. Numeric labels and tuple indices keep their current output. Escaping happens on a copy of the DataFrame.
make testpasses all 76 tests on Python 3.10 and 3.14, including Ruff. Seven new cases fail before the fix. Wheel and source builds pass. Codespell passes.
