4. Current Plans
Version 3.0 of Xerte Online Toolkits was released at the end of June 2015, and the project has now graduated from the Apereo incubation process to become a fully-fledged Apereo Foundation Community Project. The developer community are working on plans for the next round of development. Highlights of the latest release include:
A new editor built in HTML rather than Flash.
####Themes It's now possible to create themes for the Learning Object interface.
A template to provide advanced functionality for synching the playback of timeline based media (i.e. video and audio) with the display of other on-screen content.
Functionality so that video services like YouTube and Vimeo can be used in all places where Xerte Online Toolkits uses video.
An updated and more consistent suite of templates.
A much improved workspace and a new look and feel.
