Placeholder images, especially used in fluid-styleguide are fetched via e.g. https://via.placeholder.com/200x200.gif. This is now very unreliable. Issue #72 addresses a feature to configure the external service. Pull request #119 is using the TYPO3 GifBuilder to generate PlaceholderImages within TYPO3.

The placeholder.com domain was sold to a commercial real estate company and does not serve placeholder images anymore.
