To inherit static method of the parent class, in es5, the child function's prototype link called __proto__ should be assigned as parent function itself. For example,

function Parent(){}
function Child(){}

Parent.sayHello = function(){
    console.log("hello");
}

Child.prototype = Object.create(Parent.prototype)
Child.prototype.constructor = Child

Child.sayHello() // Error

In the case of es6,

class Parent{
    static sayHello(){
        console.log("hello")
    }
}
class Child extends Parent{}
Child.sayHello() // "hello"

To solve this problem, the prototype link called __proto__ of Child should be defined as Parent .

function Parent(){}
function Child(){}

Parent.sayHello = function(){
    console.log("hello");
}

Child.prototype = Object.create(Parent.prototype)
Child.prototype.constructor = Child
Child.__proto__ = Parent
Child.sayHello() // Error
