checked this out and it's a lot better. Still not like solid fps - ever so slightly less in the order of 0.5ms I'd say. But I guess I can use update_mode="fastest" if that matters!

Good to hear!

I think I'll have a look at Qt precise timer, which would be a bit cleaner. Also wanna look if the problem exists with uvloop. Basically making some exceptions when entering the IS_WIN code path in cases where it's not needed or where we can solve it in a better way.
