This upgrade of the Elstob font adds Greek support, both monotonic and polytonic, together with OpenType programming that allows users to produce polytonic Greek by typing base letter + diacritics instead of the precomposed characters in Greek Extended. Version 2.000 contains major changes:
- design changes for a more modern look;
- OpenType features revised to match those of Junicode as closely as possible;
- more comprehensive kerning by Kern On;
- Slant axis for italic variable font;
- slant of static fonts made less extreme;
- New Unicode characters added, esp. those for the Ormulum.
Documents that depend on the OpenType features of Elstob 1 may need revision; they may reflow when changed to Elstob 2. Do not rely on this beta version for production work.
Beta3 contains more refinements in spacing and kerning, and adds support for Vietnamese.
