Absolute Johannes factotum
- SCP-2524 (?)
- SCP-2524 is a normal-looking red scented candle that, when lit, makes the shadows of nearby people appear as if they are marionette puppets. These puppet shadows usually copy the person's movements, but sometimes they move on their own, doing things like waving, scratching their heads, or even mock-fighting other shadows. The strings of these puppet shadows all meet at a single point above the candle, and occasionally, faint, childish laughter can be heard from that spot after the shadows act independently. The candle is kept in a standard locker with extra fire protection.
- Gambling on papal conclaves (?)
- The article discusses the historical practice of gambling on papal conclaves, which involves betting on the outcome of papal elections, including who will be chosen as pope and the duration of the conclave. This practice dates back to at least the 15th century and was common in 16th-century Italy, often handled by Roman banking houses. Although Pope Gregory XIV declared it an excommunicable offense in 1591, this ban was abrogated in 1918, and betting on papal elections has continued into the 21st century, with major bookmakers and online platforms offering odds, despite some regions having legal restrictions.
