Description

When a user selects a unit on the course outline sidebar, it remains open. This behavior can be confusing on mobile devices because the sidebar is displayed on the entire screen. This PR changes the behavior to close the sidebar once the learner selects the unit.

Testing instructions

  1. Ensure you have enabled the courseware.enable_navigation_sidebar Waffle flag.
  2. Open any course unit on a mobile device.
  3. Open the sidebar on the left side.
  4. Select any unit and check that the sidebar was closed afterward.

Where can I find more information?

If you'd like to get more details on all aspects of the review process for open source pull requests (OSPRs), check out the following resources:

When can I expect my changes to be merged?

Our goal is to get community contributions seen and reviewed as efficiently as possible.

However, the amount of time that it takes to review and merge a PR can vary significantly based on factors such as:

  • The size and impact of the changes that it introduces

Makes sense to me! If you haven't already, can you just get a +1 from some product person, perhaps by asking on Slack #studio ?

@bradenmacdonald, I posted a request on the #wg-product-core channel, as I couldn't find anything closer to the Learning MFE. Do you suggest posting it on the #studio channel, too?

Thank you for catching. This updated behavior makes sense to me.
