A decent (imo) FOSS project should have a roadmap or somekind of way to tell their community what the plan is.

Lets agree to disagree.

Every Foss project is governed differently, based on the taste of the maintainers, if their taste doesn't suit your, leave, or fork or anything.

or you could just use the beta client out of the CI of this MR, and report any problems you find early (I know crazy Idea)

Just found that there is actually a milestone for this version 4.0.0. It's just not referenced.
