Sourcing real-time IoT sensor data is a challenging task as there are barely any sources online. The ones that are available are either not free to use or are limited by their restrictions. This project aims to solve this problem by providing a reliable stream of sensor data that can be scaled and tailored to the user's requirement and specification. All this while being open-source and free to use. The project is scalable, easily configurable and integrates well with other micro-services on Kubernetes.
- Start a minikube cluster:
minikube start --vm-driver=docker --cpus=<cpus> --memory=<mem>
- Deploy the ConfigMaps
kubectl apply -f deployment/configmap/
- Deploy the Kafka cluster and monitor:
kubectl apply -f deployment/kafka/
kubectl get pods -w
- Once running, deploy the consumers and monitor:
kubectl apply -f deployment/consumer/
kubectl get pods -w
- Deploy the producers once running and monitor:
kubectl apply -f deployment/producer/
kubectl get pods -w
- Listen in on any consumer by printing it's logs:
- First get the consumer pod ids:
kubectl get pods | grep consumer
- Then use listen the log of any pod by copying from the NAME field:
kubectl logs <NAME> -f
