Hi, Sorry, I looked at it a while ago but somehow forgot... I remember I did not understand one detail, have to check again as I do not remember what it was, it was a somehow surprising detail that made me a bit nervous. As the ws_expirer does not have a real test suite... I see no major problems merging it I think. I am at the moment not sure if ws_expirer might be migrated to c++ as well, but It makes no sense to wait for that, I would merge it into the current version, and would probably port it in case it gets migrated. (c++ port would happen in the rewrite in v2, https://github.com/holgerBerger/hpc-workspace-v2 which is not yet complete, and available parts are in testing, not yet ment for usage. when ws_expirer would show up there, it will get tests as well.) As I understand you want to run locally on NFS servers, that makes sense. For parallel filesystem not so much (in the sense of local) but running several instances on multiple clients might make sense as well, so that option helps in that scenario as well. So far performance is not really an issue for anybody as far as I know, but deleting the workspaces in parallel within the instance would be also easy if someone needs it. regards Holger Am Fr., 14.
