up is a shell function for jumping to a parent directory by name.

🐚 Git & Bash

Clone up's Git repository.

$ git clone https://github.com/helpermethod/up ~/.up

Add the following to your .bashrc (Linux) or .bash_profile (macOS) to install up.

. "$HOME/.up/up"

Add the following to your .bashrc (Linux) or .bash_profile (macOS) to enable up's shell completion.

. "$HOME/.up/completion/bash/up"

🐚 Git & Zsh

Clone up's Git repository.

Add the following to your .zshrc to install up.

Get a list of parent directory names

$ up <tab>

Jump to a parent directory by name

$ up weilero
