GeoCommons now has a very full featured, early edition, API. You can find out more on the GeoCommons API documentation page. The API provides you with full featured geospatial data management, spatial analysis, thematic visualization building and interactive JavaScript.

To summarize an example flow from uploading data to an embedded map:
