Carry typed OTLP data point and family metadata (typed attributes, flags, exemplars, start times) as an optional sidecar of the internal msgpack format. Histogram buckets stay cumulative on the wire so 5.1 readers and writers keep interoperating, unknown layout markers are ignored, and samples with metadata merge by labels in cmt_cat. The final export of a chunk only checked the record count of the last scope, which restarts at zero for every scope. A chunk that ended with a group start and no records yet, such as a group whose records arrive in a later append, dropped all its earlier records while the flush reported success. Count the records pending since the last export instead. A batch export also released only the records of the current scope, so records of earlier scopes in the same request were sent again with the next batch. Release the records of every scope after an export. Signed-off-by: Eduardo Silva <eduardo@chronosphere.io>

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Use pending_records for the full-batch limit.
If batch_size is 3, two records in one scope and three in the next scope produce a five-record request. Line 1670 counts both scopes, but the full-batch condition checks only the current scope’s log_record_count. Check pending_records so each request respects the configured limit.

When an output processor drops every record, the flush counts the records of a NULL, empty buffer. The log scanner passed it to mpack, whose reader asserts on a NULL buffer, which aborts builds with mpack assertions enabled, such as the macOS unit test jobs. processor_fts: Fluent Typed Scripting
FTS is a new processor for writing telemetry policies in Lua with typed
access to logs, metrics and traces. Policies read and edit records the way
the data actually is: 64-bit integers stay exact, binary stays binary,
timestamps keep nanoseconds, and OpenTelemetry resources, scopes and
attributes are first-class properties instead of raw metadata maps.
