This is a collaborative repository for developing tools on top of Data Commons APIs. Such tools may include visualization widgets, algorithms for detecting anomalous data, and more.
Data Commons is an Open Knowledge Graph that provides a unified view across multiple public data sets and statistics. We've bootstrapped the graph with lots of data from US Census, CDC, NOAA, etc., and through collaborations with the New York Botanical Garden, Opportunity Insights, and more. However, Data Commons is meant to be for community, by the community. We're excited to work with you to make public data accessible to everyone.

This repository uses a centralized GitHub Actions CI orchestrator to manage
testing across multiple applications in the monorepo. Individual applications
run modular test suites that gate branch merges into main without blocking
unaffected applications.

Developers and AI agents contributing to this repository must follow the
Coding Guidelines, plus the
Frontend Conventions for any UI work and the AGENTS.md of the
application being changed, where it has one
(dataweaver). Where an application directory carries its
own CODING_GUIDELINES.md or FRONTEND.md, that copy augments the root
document; it does not replace it. Where the two differ, the application-level
copy takes precedence. All submissions are expected to adhere to these rules
and include comprehensive tests.
