Summary

Submodule bump to cortexapps/firecracker#4 — ADR 0045 D1: the substrate-v2b fork surface (uffd_base_file load param → MAP_PRIVATE base-shm backing + MISSING|MINOR UFFD registration).

  • Inert: engrams never sends the new field yet (D2 wires it); with the field unset the binary is byte-identical to the current fork. The build-firecracker job + version-agnostic R2 diff-guard verify on this PR.
  • Merging auto-rolls the FC host fleet with the new (drop-in) binary via the standing fc_fork → node-assets → drain-gated roll pipeline.
  • Fork-side validation (on engram-dev, kernel 6.8): unit tests green (read-through, COW privacy, offsets, hugetlbfs rejection), static musl build green; kernel behaviors gated by substrate_kernel_capabilities (ADR 0045 S0.6: freeze fork v2 on the MAP_PRIVATE substrate (v2b) #163).

D2 (client field + base-shm provisioning + handler CONTINUE arm) follows on top of this.

Picks up cortexapps/firecracker#4 — the ADR 0045 D1 fork surface: an
optional uffd_base_file load param backing Uffd-restored guest memory
MAP_PRIVATE on a shmem base file with MISSING|MINOR registration.
Inert in this binary: engrams never sends the field yet (that's the D2
wiring PR), and the default path is byte-identical to the current fork
(R2 guard verifies). The fleet roll this triggers ships a drop-in.
