This change also removes compatiblity with EOL'ed python 3.6 and 3.7 This removes the need for custom logic in setup.py and reduces duplication of project metadata.

This change removes compatiblity with EOL'ed python 3.6 and 3.7 (by using
importlib.metadatato retrieve project version, rather than using regex on the python script).This removes the need for custom logic in setup.py and reduces duplication of project metadata.
