Weave is the official compiler for Silk. Weave is also capable of compiling VHDL and Verilog into Cloth (The intermediate format). Cloth combines multiple languages into a common format for use in simulation & export to another language. Eventually an optimizer Tiedye will be developed.

The compiler is divided into several phases.
