Add nio widen to selectively widen (or narrow!) fields/columns. See doc comment for details.

A few fixes:

  • Make ordinary file IO append by default.
  • Do not leak open files in nio rip, though as a command that may never matter.
  • work around a few glitches in Nim-devel
