The BC Building Code 2024 (BCBC) is the authoritative provincial regulation governing new construction, building alterations, repairs, and demolitions. The BCBC establishes minimum standards for safety, health, accessibility, fire, and structural protection, as well as energy and water efficiency. The BCBC 2024 applies throughout British Columbia, except on some federal lands and within the City of Vancouver.
B.C. Reg. 119/2024 formally established the BC Building Code 2024 as the enforceable provincial standard for technical building requirements. Subsequent updates and amendments form part of the official code. For the most current version, visit the Government of British Columbia's website.
This repository contains a draft machine-readable (JSON) version of the BC Building Code 2024 (BCBC), including updates up to Revision 5. The Province is working to provide an official JSON version of the BCBC. Access to the JSON BCBC will require a license agreement.
