In some cases it is useful to specify which side the hyper key uses. This allows for some fun key bindings where you can bind lhyper + rshift for example

I actually was just looking for this feature - would be great to get this merged in.

I use hyper with r_shift instead of shift(written out) so I can use hyper + l_shift + num to move a window to a certain space like you would in i3. So this would be a very welcome addition because it doesn't work the way HYPER is defined at the moment.
