Rationale for this change
Equality Deletes are deprecated in the Iceberg spec. That being said, they still exist out in the wild. We should have support for reading them (it's a major blind spot we have for v2 support), but explicitly block writing them.
Are these changes tested?
I've included unit tests. I tested this with a (hand-written sadly) equality delete file and made sure that both PyIceberg + Spark understood it.
Are there any user-facing changes?
