In this user documentation you find information about how to use our app.

Landing Page

On our landing page you can see all different areas our app covers in by swiping to the left. With one click on a tile you can enter the specified area. To make this more user friendly we choose to give every tile a certain colour and characteristic symbol. In general, the app owns a backward-button that allows you to reach the previous page, wherever you are in the app.

Navigation area

In the navigation area you can simulate starting and stopping a navigation. You can start it by clicking the "start navigation" button and end it by clicking the "stop navigation" button. It is also possible to delay both of these actions by choosing a delay of 30 seconds or 1 minute in the right upper corner. So it will start as a background task. When the pin icon turns green on the right side of the upper bar you can notice a running navigation. This is visible on every page in our app. It will change back to red when the navigation is stopped. By clicking the "speech announcement" button a dummy navigation speech command will be played after the selected delay.

Steering Wheel area

The steering wheel area has two modes between which you can switch with the toggle button in the upper right corner. The default mode is "functionality" where you can press the different buttons on the steering wheel. To get information, which actions the buttons trigger, you need to switch to the "description" mode. Here you get information about the functions simply by clicking on them. The description fades away after a while or will be replaced by a new text if another button is pressed. You get back to the functionality mode by pressing the toggle button again. In addition, it is possible to add customized sequences of steering wheel buttons. When you click on the toggle button in the upper left corner it changes to the activated state. As long as the button is activated, it records every steering wheel button that is pressed into a sequence. As soon as you click the button again, the button is deactivated and the sequence is saved in the list of available sequences. You can reach this list by clicking the sequences button in the middle.

Vehicle Properties area

The Vehicle Properties area has several functions. On the one hand, you are able to see the current battery level of your car. On the other hand, it is possible to select a battery level under which the app should warn you about low battery. If the battery level of your car drops below your self selected level, a message is shown immediately, after 30 seconds or after 1 minute. In addition, it is possible to choose a vehicle identifier number by typing it in the vehicle number tile at the bottom of the area.

Speech Assistant area

In the Speech Assistant area you can simulate an speech announcement. You can decide, whether you want to trigger a tap-to-talk (TTT) or push-to-talk (PTT) speech interaction. By pressing the PTT button, the app simulates speech interaction when a steering wheel knob is pressed, whereas by pressing the TTT button, the app simulates speech interaction when a software button is pressed. In both cases the system listens to what is being said and confirms unterstanding the speech input by a short audio sound. The area also owns a delay button, with which it is possible to delay both of these actions by choosing a delay of 30 seconds or 1 minute.

Timer area

In this area you are able to see which actions have been triggered in the app that is being tested and how long they took, so that you can check if the app that is being tested complies with the requirements of the customer. When you are testing an app, a list with the columns ActionID, Description, Start, End and Duration appears, in which all actions and their durations are logged. The list only shows actions that have a start AND end intent.

App Settings area

In this area you see all possibilities to adjust app settings. At the moment it is possible to switch between day and night mode by clicking the toggle button.

Test Drive area

In this area you are able to start and stop recording a test drive by clicking the big toggle button. During a test drive all events that occur concerning the vehicle properties should be logged in a list having the following columns: ID, EventName, VehiclePropertyID, Value, Time. At the moment, the events EV_Battery _Level, Fuel_Level, Fuel_Level_Low and Gear_Selection are logged when you start recording a test drive. After you stopped the recording, nor more events are logged and the just finished test drive appears in a list of recordings just under the toggle button. By clicking on a previously recorded test drive, a list of all events that occurred during this test drive is shown.
