What does 'prior to Gen 9 only' means?

These moves were available to be learned prior to the move changes with Generation 9. For example, Arbok could learn Gunk Shot back then. It cannot now, but the old mons still have that move and can still use it.
If you'd prefer to exclude those moves, I can adjust and just have the new moves. That would leave something like Beedrill with only 2 move options though
