Electroencephalography based source reconstruction of cerebral activity (the EEG inverse problem) is an important tool both in clinical practice and research, and in cognitive neuroscience. Methods for solving the inverse problem are based on solutions to the corresponding forward problem, i.e., the simulation of Electroencephalography potentials for a given primary source in the brain using a volume-conduction model of the human head[1].
