Windows/Github Copilot CLI sandbox

az login is failing in the AgOS Selfhost BYOD sandbox scenario, with Python crashing while processing the MSAL authentication flow.

The issue is being tracked in ADO:
Bug 63569737 - [AgOS Selfhost][BYOD] Az Login under sandbox is failing with python crashing on a MSAL STATUS_STOWED_EXCEPTION error

Based on the current investigation, the failure occurs while MSAL is processing the notification from Windows Accounts Control.

Azure CLI is currently waiting for an updated MSAL Python release. Once the MSAL change is available, Azure CLI needs to consume the update and validate the fix before shipping.

• Wait for the MSAL fix / new Python release
• Determine whether Azure CLI requires only an MSAL dependency update or any additional code changes
• Update MSAL dependency in Azure CLI if required
• Validate az login in the affected AgOS Selfhost/BYOD sandbox scenario
• Include the validated update in an Azure CLI release
