Fixes #140

Summary of Changes

  • Replaced static page imports in src/App.jsx with React.lazy() dynamic imports to split route components into smaller JavaScript chunks.
  • Wrapped route components in a Suspense boundary using an accessible Spinner loading indicator.
  • Added an ErrorBoundary wrapper to catch and gracefully handle failed dynamic page module imports.

Verification

  • Verified route navigation across all pages.
  • Confirmed that page modules load dynamically on demand.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Performance

    • Pages are loaded on demand as you navigate, rather than all at once when the app opens. This can reduce the amount of content loaded initially.
  • User Experience

    • A spinner and loading status appear while a page loads.
    • If a page fails to load, an error message and reload button are displayed so you can try again.
    • Existing page routes remain available.

…on pages

Closes AOSSIE-Org#140

Replaces static page imports in App.jsx with React.lazy dynamic imports. Wraps the route definitions in a Suspense boundary with an accessible Spinner fallback loader and an ErrorBoundary to gracefully handle route loading failures.

Walkthrough

App.jsx lazy-loads page components. The route tree uses Suspense with a PageLoader fallback and an ErrorBoundary that displays an error message and reload button after a caught error.

Lazy loading and route boundaries
src/App.jsx
Page components use dynamic imports. PageLoader displays a spinner and loading status while a page loads. ErrorBoundary displays an error message and reload button after a caught error. The unchanged route tree is wrapped with Suspense and ErrorBoundary.

Lazy loading is in place, but a page error or failed chunk load leaves the content area on the error screen even after the user navigates elsewhere. The existing routing test is also likely to fail because it no longer waits for the lazily loaded page. Fix both before merging.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title states the main change: page routes in src/App.jsx move to code splitting and lazy loading. The raw summary confirms React.lazy imports, a Suspense boundary, and an ErrorBoundary, which match the title. The title is specific and uses the conventional commit format. It does not name the error boundary, but that detail is secondary to the main change.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The pull request changes are limited to src/App.jsx. The ErrorBoundary, reload action, loading indicator, and route preservation directly support loading dynamically imported route modules. No unrelated change is demonstrated.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #140 requires lazy page imports, a Suspense boundary with a loading indicator, and a build without the >500 kB chunk warning. src/App.jsx implements all listed lazy imports, wraps Routes in Suspense, and uses the accessible PageLoader with Spinner. The reviewed evidence does not include npm run build output or another check that proves the warning is absent and that the output contains the required smaller chunks.

Resolution

Provide reviewable npm run build evidence that shows multiple JavaScript chunks and no >500 kB chunk warning.

A rabbit watched the pages split,
Each loaded only when called to it.
A spinner turned while chunks arrived,
An error caught kept routes alive.
Then off the rabbit hopped with cheer,
“The right page loads when I draw near!”

Reset the error boundary when the route changes.

When a lazy route import rejects, ErrorBoundary sets hasError to true and renders its fallback. Navbar remains outside the boundary, so navigation can occur, but the mounted boundary continues to return the fallback instead of rendering the new route. Key ErrorBoundary by location.pathname or reset its state when navigation changes. Add a regression test for a failed route import followed by navigation to a working route.
