Right now if we make a new release, the Winnitron owner has to:

  • download the new zip
  • manually only extract the WINNITRON directory, overwriting the existing one
  • be intentional about not overwriting WINNITRON_UserData
    • unless they want to redo all the config/sync/etc. gross

So let's write a script or something that can check for new versions and do the update. It'll probably end up being a whole separate app/repo, but for now I'm putting this here as a reminder.
