I made a request (request 27 on the "staging" version of the app) that was left pending overnight. The next day, it still displayed on the my request page as a currently pending request, but I believe it was missing from the instructor interface. It seems that the app should either
automatically mark remaining pending requests as "not seen" at the end of the day, or,
continue to display such requests the next day, so that someone can manually mark them as "not seen".

I'd say 1 is preferable, because a "we couldn't see you today" message on the following day would be confusing to the student. It looks like Heroku provides a mechanism to run "jobs" at specific times; it should be fairly easy to write a simple script that finds all outstanding requests at 10pm every day, and marks them as no-shows.
