Some plugin functionality doesn't work when using 'default' permalinks

To use the plugin in permalink 'default' mode you can add the 'lang' to the url. Like this: http://192.168.99.100:32777/?lang=cn
Currently this will render the page and trigger Transifex Live to pick the correct language. However hreflangs will not render and reverse links will not contain this param.

Need to investigate the proper way of handling this from an internet standard perspective.
