Bug: text to speech not working

When I insert a voice parameter text to speech I get an error when I start the timer: Text-to-speech-error: -1

Is there some app I need to install to make this work?

I tried Play store, github and F-droid versions.
I'm running CalyxOS 5.12.0 on Pixel 8.
