Much like with ecls, anm and std files contain scripts written inside of them that controls the functionality of a piece of the game. thanm fortunately outputs script data but it is a bit too raw compared to how far thecl has advanced.
Anyway, my suggestion here is pushing for a more friendly syntax in anm scripts when dealing with ecls, as well as decompiling the std files into a readable format as these files control the 3D backgrounds and camera functions throughout the stage.

Interesting, I am also in the process of documenting as well. Currently only ecl (as it is the most important part) but I'm also looking to covering other systems as well.
