Nope, need a vertical navigation menu layout just like on jQuery Smart Tab v3 http://techlaboratory.net/jquery-smarttab#demo
Describe the solution you'd like
jQuery Smart Tab v3 is using flex layout to achieve it. But in the case case of jQuery Smart Wizard v5, the toolbar also goes vertical if we use the flex. If that can be handled flex would be a good solution.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Float the elements is another solution, or absolute position the navigation to fix on the sides.
Additional Notes
Current top candidate is to use flex in conjuration with positioning. Apply the flex column layout and absolute position the toolbar to force stick to the top/bottom.
