Saving of MCP23S17 Port Extender

Hallo, I found this project: (https://github.com/DutchMaker/Apple-1-Mini)
It is similar to the RC6502 SBC, but without the MCP23S17 IC.
So I tried to connect the PIA with the Arduino directly, used the Serial-IO sketch from there and it works!
I did not use the VT100 codes.
