We need to figure out what a User Group in a Box actually is. We know we want to facilitate user groups and make their lives easier, but we don't actually know what makes life hard right now. :)

Is the box physical? Or is it actually mostly training organizers so they know what they can expect? Or is it a set of volunteers who help bootstrap things and show the new organizer the ropes? Or is it all of these things?

On the physical side, these things have been a problem for me in the past:

  • Camera setup / workflow
  • Name badges / markers
  • Sign up sheet / pens
  • Volunteer greeters
  • Video adapters for all types of computers
  • Amplifying audio equipment
  • Recording audio equipment
  • Timers
  • Projectors / Screens
  • Plates / Silverware / Napkins / Cups
