(Installer gemsource) open - and related repository names - opens empty repository browsers

(Installer gemsource) open should open a repository browser with all the packages listed. It opens an empty browser. This is disappointing.
Right now my best guess is that some aspect of loading up the package infos got factored out in the past and has never been re-connected. Not huge priority, but sometimes these small things point to a bigger mistake.
