Setup a password when launching playground with single-user mode

If we want to launch palyground on Google Cloud, Aliyun, or other public clouds provider. Playground exposes the Jupyter Notebook port on public internal, that we should set a password for safety.

Jupyter Notebook can set the password using --NotebookApp.token= arguments :

jupyter notebook --ip=0.0.0.0 --port=8888 --allow-root --NotebookApp.token='my_password'

Currently, I prefer to use notebook password like your comment. Can we get the password from env variable ? So we can have different password for different users.

For my command, user should set the password when starting the VM, and generate a YAML file from yaml.template by setting the password in YAML. But I'm not sure we can set the password when setting up the VM.

For another way, we Notebook can generate a random token, and write it on the notebook server logs, we can retrieve the logs and return the token to user.

I think option2 is more user-friend, but can we show the token when a user setup the VM on a Cloud?
