Private channel names are not being displayed

When I capture data from a channel input, taking the channel name as shown in the image below, if the channel is private, I cannot obtain the channel name in the output.

As shown in the last image, the output for this field contains the data #private-channel, while for the public channel the correct data appears.

Is this a bug or is it working correctly?

Hey @BSouzaDock 👋 This seems to be expected behavior to prevent accidentally sharing private channel names to other channels. I can confirm this happens for apps that are both a member of and not a member of the private channel. A workaround might exist to get this channel name from within your custom step though!

I'm most interested in if you can use the slack#/types/channel_id as input type to your function instead? Within the function you could then use conversations.info to collect the channel name, as long as the right scopes are set.

I used the slack#/types/channel_id type, but I had the same problem of not being able to get the name of the private channel. The only way I managed was to use the administrative API to invite the bot to the channel, and then use conversations.info to obtain a name.

I don't see the point in Slack not having developed an administrative API that makes it possible to retrieve the channel name by ID. The admin.conversations.search method allows you to search by name, but in my case it didn't help much, as I needed to do the opposite.
