switched to using NX, life's been great ever since, way more mature, works with anything, no caveats, pretty cool.

Do you have an example repo by any chance? Or some link for direct documentation?

https://github.com/sebastiangug/nestjs-federation -- this one is showing nestjs graphql federation -- for full documentation look up their website as they have excellent documentation and their slack group is very responsive.
