I realize iOS 7 is still very much unfinished, but the way Safari works in this new OS is a little different and doesn't seem to be affected by this script. It looks like it scrolls the page the way it should, but the address bar doesn't shrink the way it would if you manually scrolled and the menu bar at the bottom doesn't fade away.
Further investigation will be required, but I just wanted to point this out.

Hi, it appears this is coming to iOS 7.1 in the form of a new viewport property:
A property, minimal-ui, has been added for the viewport meta tag key that allows minimizing the top and bottom bars on the iPhone as the page loads. While on a page using minimal-ui, tapping the top bar brings the bars back. Tapping back in the content dismisses them again.
