Kill the cookbook

I think we should kill the cookbook project because:

• No one is working on it
• I believe that there is no usecase anymore, a dev with minimal experience for whom a cookbook is/was useful is just going to ask an AI agent to write their code and lean from reading the output.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but I think you're right.

Maybe after enough of our stuff is 1.0'd somebody (or some LLM) will feel motivated to start working on it again.

I would like to suggest deferring this decision for a little while.

I think if developed correctly, the book could definitely be a valuable resource.
Indeed, AI assistants/agents are changing the way new developers learn, but it should not replace all other types of learning.

I do believe it requires someone taking it on as a dedicated project, an idea I've played with before and briefly discussed with @tcharding last month.

Would it be possible to revisit the issue in a month? Meanwhile I'll commit some dedicated time to it.
If in a month the consensus remains to kill it, I will forever hold my peace 😉

Go for it, happy to see what you come up with. I won't review any PRs that are LLM generated though and contain oodles of slop. Please hand write you stuff or review LLM output very carefully. I'm extremely sensitive to it.

I agree with this. While LLMs are a good learning resource, it would be nice to have a reliable source of truth. I was learning while writing the draft but i'll polish it up and push it,
