Electron HMR really annoying issue where VSCode looses focus.

I am writing an Electron app on MacOS. Everytime I update vscode HMR updates the electron preview app and vscode looses focus. Unless I type really fast I either have to not preview the app in realtime or click back into vscode after every keystroke. Is there a solution to this?

I know this is not a problem with the Quasar framework, but hoping someone has a solution.
