Add automatic article-style citation (bibtex / attribution) to book chapters

Description

Following the instructions at https://quarto.org/docs/authoring/create-citeable-articles.html#other-types-of-documents, I can automatically pull metadata to put a citation at the bottom of the page of an article I write.

I would like to be able to do the same when I'm writing a book, with a citation for the chapter at the bottom of each page. Is that possible? It doesn't work when I follow the same instructions.
