Update this page, https://devguide.python.org/langchanges/, to add mention of a sponsor for a PEP.

  • Refer to PEP 1 discussion of sponsor
  • The intent is to help non-core developers to navigate the PEP process and to aid community members in crafting draft PEPs with a high likelihood of success.
  • Point out that contributors may request a sponsor by posting on python-ideas or python-dev. Additional questions about the process of finding a sponsor can be directed to the Steering Council.

References: PEP 1, python/peps#903, and https://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2019-March/156599.html

GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are python/core-workflow#5 (Move the PEPs to Read the Docs), #152 (Translate docs to others language), and #173 (Update the section about backporting changes).
