It seems that we need to add only one property to xml file for paragraph style:

I need a parameter to a paragraph style, which is called "don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" in LibreOffice.
Description from MSDN:

This element specifies that any space specified before or after this paragraph, specified using the spacing element (§17.3.1.33), should not be applied when the preceding and following paragraphs are of the same paragraph style, affecting the top and bottom spacing respectively.

Looks like this option are not supported in current release.

I noticed this when using the List Numbers default style. I added space_after = Pt(12) but nothing changed. When in MS Word itself, I opened the Paragraph options where you can set the Alignment, Indentation, and Spacing. There's a checkbox at the bottom of Spacing that reads, "Don't add spacing between paragraphs of the same style" That is checked which explains why my setting of "space_after = Pt(12)" has no effect. I had to just add a new line character of \n to get the spacing the way I wanted it, but without being able to adjust this, the space_after in python-docx doesn't really have much of an effect.
