pyjanitor import breaks pandas hints/autocompletion

Hi,
just what the title says. when I make ìmport janitor` makes that the hints and autocompletions of pandas library do not work at all. Any clue? I'm using vscode.

Thanks for your answer. No, in ipython works fine.
pandas version: 2.2.3
janitor version: 0.30.0
vscode version: 1.97.2
jupyter extension version: 2025.2.0
OS: Debian 12

update:
this happens when i use a janitor mehtod over a df, like clean_names(). if I try to access a pd object that has not been changed by janitor, hints are aveilable

Hi @jaymc-betta not familiar with your setup. Try it in the notebook environment. If it works fine then it means there may be some config on your machine that is the underlying issue. Sorry that I can't be of much help in this case.

Without pyjanitor installed, it works fine? In combination with some other library, say pandas and polars or pandas and pyarrow, it works fine?

Yes, if I use pyarrow engine or polars with import janitor.polars to read csv file it also break hints.
In adition, I've noticed no other janitor hints are shown in pandas objects, so the API Policy:

pyjanitor only extends or aliases the pandas API (and other dataframe APIs) (...)

Is not properly applied. Example:

Ignore pyjanitor for now. If you combine pandas and pyarrow does the type hint work?
