I am not sure what other details you would need as I am not primarily a developer. I was able to get this extension to work in the web browser version but it does not work in the standalone macOS app. This is fine unless this means I still did something wrong.
Now I get the same error spacecodee had in this issue with the error ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'utils' when I run the generated python script.
I had the same problem on Mac Studio with a desktop version, which automatically updates often, and that was not good. Because the custom nodes are from a community the developers make them for personal reasons and not for money, and they cant to update their nodes for a whole life every time Python or Comfyui changes. So the best thing is to keep a version that works best and to have the desktop only for the new one, which is less than the old one. I installed Stability Matrix, which is a native app for AI. you install packages like docker but native, and you can jump from one version to another quickly.
With that in mind, you could install the Python extension, and if you want the button on the panel, you must disable the new menu from the settings. Please check the disable button update to keep the master version as is on Python 3.10, which is the best for the old nodes so far.
I have installed this per the instructions and the option to save as script is in my ui but it does not appear to do anything. ComfyUI v0.4.16
