modprobe xpad gives "Key was rejected by service" #312

Setting up xpad has worked so far but when i try to use modprobe (full command was sudo modprobe xpad) to get it to work it just says this:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'xpad': Key was rejected by service

I could try to force insert it but feel like that might harm things, please help
