bumpy.f2py not recognized by PyInstaller

Since yesterday, after creating an .exe file using PyInstaller and running it, I get the following message. I did not get this error before yesterday compiling and running the same program. Any idea? BTW, I am using OSPQ in my code.

What version of numpy do you have installed in that python environment?

This looks like a case when PyInstaller's numpy hook is used (which excludes numpy.f2py) instead of the hook that is nowadays provided by numpy itself - either because that is failing to register for some reason, or because the version of numpy you are using did not provide the hook.

Try rebuilding your application (or presumably a simple import numpy test program) with --clean option (to force full rebuild), then look at the messages produced during build. Do you see any warnings related to numpy? Look for the line that says Loading module hook 'hook-numpy.py' from ... - where is this hook loaded from?

I updated Python to 3.12.4. The obj error is gone. Now I get this one:

You probably need to add at least one of the modules listed here to hidden imports.

Adding osqp.ext_builtin to hidden imports worked. Thanks for your help.

I'll check the current state of the numpy hook some more, and then (eventually) submit the update. There are couple of other things that we could probably improve there...

Actually, it looks like someone already opened PR for numpy.f2py issue: numpy/numpy#26776
